"Your brain, spinal cord and the rest of your nerves control every aspect of your body.
Damage the vital links between your brain and your body, and this will cause pain, degeneration, sickness, or disease."
- Brett Gibbens
His Masters Degree thesis was given to the studies of core re-strengthening with exercise and treatments specifically aimed at ‘bat’ sportsmen; his study was a success and proved an increase in bat speed, greater stability and less injuries occurred whilst playing due to his ‘treatments’ : He is still focusing his on-going CPD training on sports chiropractic in which the emphasis has been on treating all aspects of sporting injuries but more importantly on how one can “pre-hab” sportsmen, in order to prevent injuries happening in the first place.
When treating patients, his core focus is on finding the cause (The Villain) rather than just chasing the pain (The Victim). In his field he specialises in all extremities: leg and arm pain, disc bulges/prolapses, headaches, tennis & golfers elbow, functional scoliosis, muscle strains and tendon/ligament sprains to repetitive strain injuries, joint dysfunctions and a variety of neck and back conditions. His treatment plans range from all forms of soft tissue work; IASTM, dry needling, cupping therapy, fascial manipulation, spinal manipulative therapy to rehabilitation and strengthening/rehab programs and providing customised functional orthotics. Brett also offers Shockwave Therapy.

More about Brett Gibbens
Softball Career
Great Britain & European player
Dr Brett Gibbens has been treating both professional and amateur sports people since starting his Chiropractic Career. Being a professional sportsman himself he is always willing to assist anyone in rehabilitation and treatment to ensure the continuity within the specific sporting field to achieve their highest potential.
Not only is an active member of the GB Softball team (and 8 times gold medallist) but was selected for TEAM EUROPE in 2014!
Brett was the medical officer for the past 7 years for Team GB Softball and has aided in fitness, training and support from 2000-2014.
European & GB Softball Hall of Fame
In every European Co-ed Slowpitch Championship in which he played except for 2004, when he was injured for much of tournament, Brett led the GB Team in hits, home runs and RBIs. He was, and remains, the most prolific home run hitter to ever play in European slowpitch softball.
Although we do not have statistics for all these tournaments, here are two examples:
In the 2002 European Slowpitch Championship, Brett had 18 hits in 21 at-bats, including six doubles, a triple and eight home runs, with 15 runs scored and 20 RBIs.
In the 2010 European Slowpitch Championship, Brett had 22 hits in 25 at-bats, including 10 doubles and eight home runs, with 20 runs scored and 27 RBIs.
But Brett’s value to the GB Team was not only at the plate. A former high-level rugby player, Brett was an outstanding athlete, combining speed, courage and a powerful throwing arm to make spectacular plays in the outfield.
Current GB Slowpitch Assistant Coach David Lee, who played with Brett in a number of European Championships, wrote: “Brett’s flair for the dramatic was backed up by his ability to raise his game under pressure. He was always the go-to hitter for GB when things were tight.”
Former GB Slowpitch Head Coach Mark Saunders wrote, “Once he joined the GB Co-ed Slowpitch Team in 1999, Brett quickly became the most feared power hitter in Europe. No one trained harder or committed themselves to the programme more fully than Brett. His high-octane game play eventually put paid to his softball career due to injuries, but in typically single-minded fashion he has now trained to become a very successful chiropractor.”
